Situated 170 km from Marrakesh, this city was inhabited as early as the 7th century B.C. Essaouira, luminous city behind its ramparts, has became a place to go to at the time of visiting Morocco. Its welcomes the outside world – its traditions, its craft industry, the mildness of its climate and the natural kindness of its inhabitants are the incontestable assets for welcoming its visitors.
In the depths of this peaceful city, we visit the port, the medina, the Skala and Jewish quarter or Mellah. We discover the souks of Essaouira, famous for its admirable carvings in thuja wood. Our excursion to Essaouira ends by visiting one of the woman’s cooperatives of the Agran oil production, we then head back to Marrakesh late in the afternoon.
